Who am I?
That’s a tough question for any teen—especially when you’re dealing with the stresses of figuring out where you belong, what you want to do, and who you want to become. But there’s someone who knows you inside and out. He knows your struggles and dreams. He knows your every need and your amazing potential: God—the great I AM.

And God wants to help you discover and enjoy everything you were created to be.

How? Simply by spending time with him; by listening to his Word; by learning more about him. God is loving, that means you are loved. God is generous— and you are gifted. God is powerful—and you are strong.

Know the truth about your amazing self ...by first knowing the truth about our amazing God.

Our Core Needs and How to Meet Them

Drawing upon the extensive research of experts in the field of self-esteem, such as Dr. Nathaniel Branden, Bob Reasoner, Dr. Michele Borba, and Dr. Kathy Koch, this devotional focuses on the five building blocks experts correlate with healthy self- esteem:

• Security
• Identity
• Belonging
• Purpose
• Competence

Dr. Kathy Koch has written several resources for parents and educators to help them understand how God created and fulfills those needs and how they can help their kids develop their gifts and character.

"Children have five legitimate needs that drive their wants,
choices, actions, and attitudes. (You have the same five needs.)
When God meets their needs, children will be whole,
emotionally well, content, and so much more."

— Five to Thrive, by Dr. Kathy Koch
This devotional, All I Am, is a simple way to help kids discover this for themselves.

God replied to Moses: I am who I am.
Then he added: This is what you will tell the Israelites:
I AM has sent me to you.

— Exodus 3:13-14

God calls Himself the great I AM. Knowing more about I AM helps me to know who I am. If God is Father -- I am his child. If God is All Knowing -- I am known. If God is Creator -- I am God's masterpiece. That is why it is so important to hunger to know him more and more and one of the best ways to know God is through spending time with him and listening to his Word.

All I Am helps kids discover:  What does God say about you? How does God feel about you? What does God want for you? How can God help you?

As they discover these truths, grow in faith, and develop their relationship with God, they will also be building a solid sense of Belonging, Identity, Security, Ability, Purpose that is firmly rooted in God's Word.
